Insulation and heating sleeves
Custom-made for precision industrial applications
In our in-house sewing workshop, we manufacture bespoke heating sleeves to meet our customers’ specific requirements. The design is based on 3D models, ensuring a precise fit, optimum heat distribution and significantly simplifying any subsequent maintenance.
Each heating sleeve is individually manufactured, fitted with suitable eltherm heating cables and tailored to the specific application – ensuring reliable heating even for complex industrial geometries.

When are insulation/heating sleeves used?
Heating sleeves are used wherever complex component geometries with multiple levels or irregular shapes need to be heated or insulated evenly, and where maintenance and inspection play a key role. The bespoke insulation and heating sleeves are designed and manufactured on the basis of 3D models of the respective application. This ensures a precise fit, guaranteeing optimum heat transfer and easy installation and removal for inspection work.
Thanks to their flexible design, heating sleeves can be individually adapted to suit almost any shape and diameter. The integrated thermal insulation reduces heat loss, improves energy efficiency and enables quick fitting and removal.
What material is the heating element made of?
Heating sleeves are made from textile materials that mould closely to the object to be heated. Only high-quality materials are used to ensure a long service life. The choice of material depends on the operating conditions, such as the operating temperature or the location of use. At lower temperatures up to +80 °C, plastic fabric is predominantly used. For higher temperatures up to +160 °C, aluminium-coated glass fabric is suitable. Glass fabric is used up to +450 °C. In some applications, the heating sleeves may be subjected to heavy stress. For such cases, an outer metal sheath is available.
Heating sleeves for cleanrooms
In a cleanroom, even the tiniest contaminants in the form of airborne particles can render the products manufactured there unusable. For this reason, there are applications – such as in the pharmaceutical industry – where production areas with a very high level of cleanliness are required. Cleanrooms are categorised into cleanroom classes ISO 1 and ISO 9 based on the varying requirements of the activities or manufacturing processes carried out there. Thanks to their specialised manufacturing process and the use of innovative materials, our heating sleeves help to keep the concentration of airborne particles in the cleanroom at an exceptionally low level. They are characterised by extremely low particle emissions and minimal outgassing.
Developed to customer specifications
eltherm insulation and heating sleeves are not off-the-shelf products; instead, they are developed and manufactured individually to meet the specific requirements of each application. Our application engineers design the heating sleeves to suit the operating conditions. The design is based on 3D models of the components to be heated, ensuring a precise fit and optimum heat transfer. Manufacturing takes place in our in-house sewing workshop. Thanks to the bespoke segments, heating sleeves are particularly flexible and can be adapted to a wide variety of geometries, shapes, diameters and power ratings.
eltherm heating sleeves are used in a wide range of applications, for example for heating bunker tips, IBCs, fans, micro-dosing pumps, complete test rigs or hose couplings. Flexible heating sleeves are also indispensable solutions in research and development as well as in nuclear technology.
Depending on the application, heating sleeves with a sheet metal outer jacket are used, for example when a particularly robust design is required under high mechanical stress. These variants are characterised by their durable construction. Hinges and adjustable clamping fasteners can also be used to compensate for tolerances in the outer diameter.
Heating sleeves can also be designed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. The feasibility of ATEX-compliant designs depends on parameters such as operating voltage, T-class, minimum operating temperature and the dimensions of the component to be heated.

FAQ
Heating sleeves are used whenever surfaces need to be heated that extend over more than two levels. As they are designed and manufactured specifically for the mould to be heated, they fit perfectly and thus ensure even heating.
As heating sleeves feature integrated thermal insulation and are made to measure, they are easy to fit and remove. This simplifies installation, reduces installation times and minimises maintenance requirements. Furthermore, as particularly high-quality materials are used, the heating sleeves have a long service life.
