Since 1991 eltherm consistently continued to extend its production of the most vital components for heat tracing systems. The generation of heat in all areas relies on electric heat tracer. In this specific field of technology eltherm specially focuses on the production of high-quality heating cables.

All resistance heating cables are insulated by a fluoropolymer outer jacket. This guarantees high temperature resistance up to 300 °C, high flexibility, optimal chemical resistance, unlimited aging stability and highest electric strength.

Some of eltherm’s special products are high temperature resistance heating cables and heating tapes, featuring an insulation made from glass fibre or quartz fibre which are suitable for temperature ranges up to about 800 °C. We also manufacture constant wattage heating cables with resistance wire, for non-hazardous as well as for hazardous areas applications.

For higher temperatures up to 1,000 °C we provide mineral insulated heating cables (MI-cables).

We offer a wide range of fluoropolymer-insulated heating cables for various applications. Our heating cables come with our without protective braid and fluoropolymer outer jacket, depending on the range of use. Constant wattage heating cables with resistance wire (ELP-...) offer tremendous flexibility in use, as they can easily be cut to the required length off the roll, with the assurance of constant power output.

Series Resistance Heating Cables, fluoropolymer-insulated

We offer a wide range of  fluoropolymer-insulated heating cables for various applications. No matter if it is frost protection or temperature maintenance, eltherm finds the right solution. Our heating cables come with our without protective braid and fluoropolymer outer jacket, depending on the range of use.

Advantages:

Our heating cable ELKM-AE, for example, is usable on apparatus, vessels, pipes, valves, etc., in which low bending radii also allow compact tracing on small components across the entire surface. The versatile heating cables ELKM-AG-..., with protective braid and fluoropolymer outer jacket, are used for frost protection and temperature maintenance, even under highly corrosive environmental conditions. The heating cable ELKM-AG-N is suited and approved for use in hazardous areas.

(ELKM means bulk stock, our heating cables are also available factory terminated, under the designation ELK.)

Constant wattage heating cables with resistance wire

offer tremendous flexibility in use, as they can easily be cut to the required length off the roll, with the assurance of constant power output. The installation of these heating cables is highly cost-efficient with any kind of heat tracing application thanks to the single end power input.

Advantages:

The heating cable consists of a succession of heating zones (length = contact spacing) and can be cut to length in sections of the contact distance to the required length. When cutting into lengths, the heating circuit is interrupted up to the next contact point and this non-active part can be used as a cold lead. During the design phase, one contact spacing length per planned heating circuit must be calculated additionally.

We offer highly flexible constant wattage heating cables with silicone outer jacket (ELP-SI-... range) or constant wattage heating cables with fluoropolymer outer jacket, offering high chemical and UV-resistance (ELP-PFA and ELP-FEP).

Our constant wattage heating cable ELP/PFA, up to 260°C, is certified for use in hazardous areas.

Mineral Insulated Heating Cables

eltherm mineral insulated heating cables are suitable for use with high output requirements up to highest operating temperatures. They are your reliable solution for frost protection, temperature maintenance and generation of process temperatures up to 700 °C. Mineral insulated heating  cables are suitable for heating of pipes, vessels, tank container, flanges and valves and many other applications.  They can even be used in floors or concrete wall structures.

Mineral insulated heating cables come with a seamless outer jacket made from Stainless Steel or Alloy. They are made completly of inorganic material, the insulation of the inner heating conductor is embedded in  magnesium oxide. A wide range of resistances ensures the termination of a multitude of heating cable lengts with various outputs and nominal voltages. Our heating cables are suitable from short up to very long heating circuits of several kilometers.

Our cable are factory terminated, bulk cable upon request.  When using MI cables, a reliable and completely sealed assembly  is essential. This is ensured by high-precision laser welding technology.
